Playing for likes of Man Utd, Newcastle, Blackburn, Sheff Utd, Leicester over, what, 15, 16 years?? Say an average weekly wage of ?8,000 per week? That'd be over ?6.5m plus all the signing on fees / settling of his contracts from the zillions of clubs he's played for.
80 odd international matches too which presumably he got payments for.
That's what gambling can lead to I suppose.
