Last year he did inherit one of the strongest squads in LG1 and had more money than most managers in LG 1
If he would have finished 10th last year I think most would consider that failure in relative terms.
This year if we finish 10th, that would probably not be too bad.
I do think the club are on such a high at the moment that the players believe everything Lambert tells them.
They believe him when he tells them they can come back from behind.
They also respect the fact that he is such a players manager in terms of keeping what is said in the dressing room.
He never tends to slate individuals in public while defending the players.
It probably annoys the press that he gives little away with his interviews.
He is not frightened to drop players or let them know that others want their places but....... if players play well he is loyal and will stick with them.
As a player in a big squad you cant ask for more than that!
Tactically he is spot on, yet is willing to change if things are not going well.
Does he ever make bad substitutions?
Past managers have often waited way too long or made bad decisions.
Too early to tell but so far he is almost perfect.
