in particular he has a tendency to dive in, and gives away too many free-kicks.
But he is also a natural defender, he has reasonable pace, and he gets something on the ball more often than not (and generally recovers well when he gets caught out).
The point is, no-one's saying Shacks is perfect - just that he's a much, much more useful defender than Flem, who's at least a year past his sell-by date. But it doesn't matter what Shacks does or doesn't do - we all know that Worthy will never, ever drop Flem. (What we don't know is why....)
