Bit harsh on Holt

Read the negative comments on this board about Holt's performance last night and I would like to offer my version of events. Yes, he did have a quiet first half but this could possibly have been due to (1)the way that Lambert set us up and the fact that Holt's sidekick (Chris Martin) was often leftback/left midfield and (2) Our midfield and defence sat too far back, thereby leaving him more isolated than usual. In the 2nd half I thought he was back to his combative best and had their defence very worried. We were very much in the ascendancy until he was took off...
