The WOTB gay-off threat level is being raised from "substantial" to "severe", it has been announced today. The new alert level means a gay-off is considered "highly likely".

The decision to raise the threat level was made over the weekend. With the threat under constant review, the judgment was made based on a broad range of factors including SCC's grinding persistence, pants' brittle inability to rise above it and taunts from other posters about recent gay-off inertia.

A spokesperson said: "We face a real and serious threat to the Wrath from gay-offs, so I would urge posters to remain vigilant and carry on reporting suspicious events to the appropriate authorities. Also smugly posting things like "I'm off", but not going anywhere hould be stepped up.

THREAT LEVEL SYSTEM
Low - gay-off is unlikely
Moderate - gay-off is possible, but not likely
Substantial - gay-off is a strong possibility
Severe - gay-off is highly likely
Critical - gay-off is expected imminently

The spokesperson also added that the change was designed to make posters more aware, not to scare them. He said: "The decision has been taken that if you don't tell posters off of the Wrath to be vigilant, they're not going to be vigilant. Better to be safe than sorry."

Short statements are expected from pants and SCC28 later today. Dozens of them in fact.
