i could probably do it myself but because i was away from home during the last couple of months it was much easier to get a blokey in to sort it all out for me and if i had to do it i wouldnt be sat on it till after the olympics.
my advice would be however not to scrimp on the framework and paint the deckboards before you put them down. bit of a faff but worth the effort.
also, but some plastic sheeting down on the bare soil to prevent weeds coming up through.
once you have the frame down and the deck planks sawn to length is the time to put the lighting in as you go. i bought theses from b&q User Posted Link i had to remove loads of deck planks and/or thread the cables through using a wire CONTRAPTION widget i invented. reason it took all day is that i am a bit of a perfectionist and each light HAD to be equidistant from the other or it would have looked s**t. sod's law that half of the light positions were in really awkward places to channel the cables.
so, in summary; get a bloke in.
