granted... no urban depravation i guess

listened to a great radio documentary about the hulme crescents in manchester the other night. terrific stuff about the crime, fear, exposure to different cultures, evolving music scene. how the hulme plan all went terribly wrong and how local activists managed to put it right. a tight music scene is unlikely to evolve from the sugar beet wars of west norfolk i suspect.
