(despite what he does at Arsenal), It will always be tinted with a large slice of "because he played instead of Huckerby that night"
In a similar way, many dress Roeder up as the man who nearly destroyed this club. In my opinion he tried to introduce the future Norwich city (and it's inherent problems), but people weren't willing to accept it
So Gunn came along, and the same problems and processes continued, and now Lambert's here, exercising the same processes and problems
2 years on, there's a clear acceptance of how, or (and) why things are the way they are, but peoples perception of Roeder will be similar to Gibbo in reality. It's cos he got rid of Huckerby and f**ked us up
He didn't, he just tried to get on with what he had to, with what was on offer by the board
The board were very foolish at the agm to imply, or spin the loan system as one of the reasons we're 23m in debt. I'm quite sure Roeder and Gunn would have signed permanent players if they could. The boards washing of hands of such things, is something I've always said, and is the reason we've hired and fired managers at an average rate of less than a year, for 14 years
I really hope Lambert isn't at odds with our board, for the sake of functioning through hard times. But I really hope our board can take a look at themselves from the last 14 years, and not do another repeat, or we'll be back in league one
