what did it do? did it help cure or just help to possibly prolong someone's life for a couple of weeks?
what were the chances of it actually working for the person for which it was prescribed?
there's a lot of s**t reported in the papers about cancer drugs not being available on the NHS, but usually very little detail as to why a decision might have been taken.
spending £50k on a 10% chance of prolonging someone's life by a couple of months maximum would be all very well. but i don't envy the people having to make the tough call as to how that finite pot of money is best spent.
