Oh, right, yes, forgot. Questions for spin bowlers.....

So I went on Google to find out what a Doosra was*** and, as is so often the case, I ended up with more questions than I began with. One of the sites I visited was one showing young bowlers how to deliver various types of slow ball, which was interesting but didn't indicate what the bowler was trying to get the batsman to do.

Without really thinking about it, I'd always thought that a ball that turns to off was intended to get a catch, whereas anything that turns into the batsman is looking for an lbw, and you chose your delivery based on the batsman's form. Evidently it's a lot more intricate than that, though.

So, spinners: how do you go about deciding what ball to bowl next? Are most amateur bowlers limited to bowling only those deliveries they're reasonably proficient with? How do you prime a batsman for your prize ball? And so on.

*** - Ceebies: this is what most people do, mate.
