That's the thing with the iPhones. All the hype was actually lived up to, BUT

those of us evangelising were seen as being the usual Apple nutters, so there has been a bit of a backlash against any minor issue with the phone.

I also own an iMac and, while I love it for many functions, I wouldn't go on about Mac vs Windows the same way I would about iPhone vs other smartphones.

All phones have problems, and right now the iPhone (even the 3G ones) are light years ahead of still anything else being produced. Perhaps not the tech specs (for example mine is now 2 years old) and certainly not the camera, but the performance and usability has still not been surpassed.

But you don't hear as much slating of the Android and Windows handsets. Not because they are superior or more stable, but because they are simply less popular and even not Apple. The G1 and the Nexus, for example, were hideous phones. I loved the HTC Touch 2 (I also own one of those) but had it only a month before getting an iPhone and haven't turned it on since.
