Music, Video, E-Books, Games as well as the obvious social stuff like Facebook, Twitter
Even the iPhone is a pretty good phone. Using the iPad for phone calls reminds me of Trigger Happy TV.
I'm sure they will find a use for it but e-books aside I prefer to have an iPhone - I can use that as a handy remote control not only for all my iTunes libraries in my house, but also for all my iMac functions using Air Mouse. A quick check on the weather forecasts, rain radar, TomTom in the car, train times etc. And it just sits in my pocket.
iPad is just to big to be that kind of handy. And for what it offers it is extremely expensive, especially if you add the 3G version (without which, you also lose the mobile data function which the iPhone lives on).
