I think it was around that time that it began to turn sour

and wasn't it soon after that he pretty much said "i love loans and anyone who doesn't like it can shove it"?

What I'm really saying is Gibbs was part of the general dissatisfaction with Roeder's spiraling out of control loan policy and it's understandable when people let out their annoyance at the time.
