Ruddy 3, can't believe we spend million pounds on him, I recall he transfer to Everton ages ago, he was never in the first team sheet, as they have veteran Martyn then Howard in goal, if he was good enough, then he should be their no. 1 before. Surely he did not have enough quality to play at the highest level. I watch on tv of course, but seems there are no organizations from him to the gk; if your say our defence did not protect our gk well, then I think our gk did not advise them how to protect him. Don't forget he was the last man and he can see all the things. Cannot due with crosses well, and their mistake which Mariappa miss, is a Ryman League standard error. I don't see he will be in our winning team.
Martin 3. What he can do is everytime he get the ball seems to do the "useless" stepover, this is what I can see he can do, with absolutely no pace to burn, no skill to dribble, also at the 94th min he cannot read a bouncing ball well, which is lack of concentration. I was so sad to see Spillane go because if he should be our first choice right back before he come, but we also Russell Martin will be one of the players on Lambert team sheet in the next 45 league matches, as long as he can walk, because he was Lambert'f favourite man.
Ward 3, he was the unlucky lad, deflected the first and third goal, especially the third goal was really poor, because on his mind he just don't want to be beaten by Graham, so he stay on his feet because he won't make a mistake, but for the team we lost the goal. I can only say he looked very nervous as I agree Coventry Yellow say, but Askou should be the man in the middle if I can choose. Don't see he has any aerial power especially attack our dead ball, he was a million pounds player? Hahaha!
Nelson 5, he was the captain but sadly he cannot do a captain's job, with his age and his style, he should shouting advises at the back liked, well, their manager Malky MacKay as a Norwich player. Dan O'Hagan (NOW TV English commentator) say he play liked Malky, but sorry Dan, he was never near the class, at least for yesterday game. Liked Ward, he cannot win any headers when attack the dead balls. One Canary callers say every time he get the ball and hoof to Jackson is wrong, but do he have someone liked Rusty will come back and want the ball to pass? No.
Drury 6, my friend stand out on the poor defence line, defensive was ok and also get time to join the attack in the center, but well he should have to play well since he's been a furniture at this club, playing 3 levels for us so he will be fine. I won't see the new guy Smith can get his spot unless he was injured. Cross was too deep, but his determination is second to none. Again his sliding tackle's timing was really accurate.
Fox 3, come on his dead balls delivery was so so poor, none of the corners reach the near post, also about the problem of Nelson, he should be the man to come back and want the ball, but he did not. Of course, he was League One player and look at where Rusty now? In a Championship club. I would love too see if Koey Smith take his place.
Hoolahan 6, drop the shoulder well but even for a player liked me who did not dribble, I think he always dribble the ball TOO CLOSE to the defenders, when the defender guess right where he will go, he should easily lose the ball and must be NO FREE KICK. Fuck me, he just perform liked Valderrama, because every our attack seems we have to pass the ball to him! Also his success rate of passing our yesterday, maybe is 50% only! Come on, how can you lose the ball so frequently during the game?
Crofts 7, My MOTM, but don't forget he was the player who misjudge the corner who let Eustuce to score! So he was not perfect on yesterday! Honestly when you look at the 7 new signings, he must be one you think he will only warm the bench, but his hair style and his performance, especially his commitment just show he was the best signings to far. I disagree he was the Andy Hughes because he can turn the ball and he can make good runs down the right. I will keep him at the starting lines-up.
Surman 3, first half free kick was well taken, but then, nothing. If you look at Wolves midfield, you can understand why he only play so few games for them last season. Some of the passes were simple, but did so badly and lost the ball. I would say if we can only have one soft player (Hoolahan) in the team, he won't be there.
Martin 5, work hard is the only word for him, but not much quality, he seems the second striker so he won't have many chances to shoot.
Jackson 3, he cannot hold the ball so that's why Watford have all possession start from first minute. We say he will score but I am sure we have to wait for a longer time. Canary Callers yesterday say right, we must worry about our strikers -- because Martin, Jackson, Johnson and even Holt is not a proven goalscorers in the Championship level. The player who occupied the no 10 last season, he was the former Championship Golden boot holder, but we released him, should we get him back as "pay as you play" contract? Hay you say he pass it but he had the experience, did Lambert think about it?
sub:
Holt 5, no doubt about his quality but just his fitenss level.
McNamee 4, lazy, do you see he shoul tackle when the ball in center circle but he suddenly withdraw his leg. Don't know why.
