She seems a lovely kind young woman and I wish her all the best. I can't help feeling sad

for her though - I'm sure she doesn't see it this way but I believe the Amish way is very oppressive and stultifying. I'm shocked they don't teach science or encourage their children and young people to question their beliefs. I hope as a result of her trip she'll come to question more of what she's been taught.
