I only bought an iPod for use through the car stereo when going on road trip holidays (e.g. US). Rarely used it for music otherwise - mostly podcasts - but still loved it.
I always had HTC PDAs. Whilst working for Orange got them all for free by chatting up the right Marketing people.
When we were bought by T-Mobile that sort of thing was no longer possible and after I'd broken all the ones I had left, the cheapest PDA left to me on my employee offer was the iPhone. Already had a Blackberry but didn't like it. In the meantime I'd wrangled an HTC Touch 2 and loved it but when the iPhone arrived, I hated the fact that I loved it so much.
Then, wanting to develop iPhone Apps, despite hating the fact that I had been fished in, I also bought an iMac and now use it as my #1 computer. Love that, too. But still use Windows on my laptop, another desktop and for work.
Still not convinced by the iPad.
People who own Apple aren't what they used to be. These days I hate Apple's methods much more than the people who buy their products.
And their stuff is highly expensive for what it is. I do love their user interfaces (most of it, not all), but the price you pay for the hardware you receive is ridiculous in most cases (iMac being the difference as it includes screen, keyboard, the wonderful magic mouse, webcam, etc).
I will shut up now.
