I think Chris has obviously matured a bit as a player and a person

He seems to be at his best when he is pushed by competition.

Even though he was first choice last year, Lambert was very clever in bringing in strikers to keep him on his toes.

With jackson coming in, martin again knows he has to train hard and do the right things to keep his place.
