Not that he was totally knackered and could barely keep up; but he just didn't think he quite had a enough. Unless they are planning a big attack in the Pyrenees (well they *must* be). Odd that they both let Menchoz & Sanchez take some time as well - kind of indicates that Contador isn't totally confident of breaking Schleck.
Interestingly I heard that Riis was telling Schleck to attack Contador last Sunday because they could see he was struggling; but Schleck didn't until that last km or so (I think you were talking about this last week too Tricky)
