everyone who broke got chased down quickly (by Contador mostly). Great timing if he wanted to win the stage and gain 15-20 seconds. Sure that wont win him the Tour; but there's a lot of mountains and only one time trial this year and you don't necessarily want the pressure of the yellow jersey at this stage. Going to be interesting!
