Oh, you should definitely go back for at least a weekend!

Longer if you want to get out and about in Sachsen. The Altstadt along the river has been restored to it's former glory. The Neustadt across the Elbe has also been restored and is chock full of cafes, bars and restaurants (there's even a Dynamo Dresden club shop!).
