some of his commentaries but in particular as a young lad listening to the Southampton FA Cup replay at Carrow Road when he must have yelled "and its a gooaaal" 4 or 5 times at various points of the match only to then follow up up with "ooh cleared off the line" or "ooh just wide" by which time it was too late as I was already bouncing around the room celebrating what i thought was a goal.

At the time I remember swearing and cursing but when you look back its the little eccentricities and traits that make commentators great and for me Roy will always be the voice I associate with Norwich City. Local radio commentators of his ilk are few and far between these days. You didn't always know quite what was happening on the pitch all the time but they had local flavour and were real characters!
