the players just didn't want it enough. Their overpaid, over inflated egos, don't see representing your country at the greatest football competition as being the pinnacle of the sport. They didn't give a toss and none of them that I saw looked particularly gutted at the end of the game.

Its the way the game is run which is the problem, the Premier league is too powerful and unlike other countries the League and the FA don't co-operate on fixtures etc. The clubs always come first and until we change that (and the mindest of the players) we will have more debacles like yesterday!
