That is such a lazy answer though

I just don't buy that, it's a pub analyst's cliche

If that was true why on earth would he have notched up 350 games or something for Chelsea under 5 or 6 different managers over 9 years??

These teams are in the business of getting the best players, and if someone's not good they get rid of him and buy someone better. They just don't DO passengers.
