i have heard his reply (many times now)

and the contempt could just as easily be for the interviewer and their questions, or it could just be one bloked ever so slightly pissed off with the way his work day has gone and just wants to get out of there and not deal with anymore s**t that day

in the follow up interview he has already rubbished press speculation about what his previous answers mean, what else would you expect him to do if the interviewer did ask him about his contempt?
