I think that's part if the problem

The relationship with the fans, the press. The players are aware we don't like most of them. When it's going badly they know we'll turn very quickly on them. There must be an element if "f**k this, I don't need it" when things aren't going well.

Aaaaaaaaaargh. Ffs. And your earler post is true, prem has destroyed the national side slowly but surely. Look at the teams the 1990 side played for. Derby. Forest. Villa. Etc
