I don't feel any different from other world cups

normally at this stage I've enjoyed a few and ignored a few and that's pretty much how I am now. The first matches of the first group stages are always that bit tentative - I don't suppose Brazil really thought they'd have to squeeze past N. Korea, and probably the result if it had been the third match would have been more the goalfest people expected. I tend to think the first game is all about avoiding embarrassment as much as anything else.

I like it coming from South Africa; although I found some of the 'look at the poor people' stuff unbelievably patronising I do think they've actually got past that now and are showing some more insight. The SOS Children's Village visit yesterday was scrumptious - hope that sees more funds heading to that particular charity.
