yes, the players running in should be smart enough to not all race in at full pelt - one of them should have the brains to hold back around the penlaty spot (you often find far more space that way).
But Lennon is facing that way and should notice where players are running before playing the ball. Lennon is a better dribbler than, say, Walcott in that he can change direction while running with ball. Unfortunately he can only manage this while keeping his eyes continually fixed on the ball, which means he has no idea what is going on around him. Hence lots of rubbish final balls.
