I still don't understand why she had her front door open.

I have kids, and wouldn't leave my door open just because its hot incase someone decides to get in, rob my stuff or hurt someone who is in at the time. If the fox was after food surely it would to the kitchen first or try to get into the bins not wander round the house checking rooms and I'm assuming the childs room has a window. So OPEN it!! Or if you know the weather is hot for your kids buy a fan. but no lets blame the fox rather then the parents for not taking proper precautions with their kids
