I've got a soft spot for Birkenstocks

although I don't possess any. I just think I realised I was old when the whole ugg boots with summer frocks thing came in, that now seems to have been replaced with coloured wellies, which whilst they're all very nice are just ridiculous when you could wear pretty shoes and sandals. I don't actually mind the toned-down gladiator sandals but I think it's a shame there's no obvious style that's replaced them yet. I think there's a bit of a move back to wedge espadrilles which is a little bit prettier.
