And you can't blame the entire current board for it.
Also the "Jayson Blair" argument of how come teams with a smaller crowd/turnover than us are better than us is very facile. Teams do well due to a great deal of factors, how the team is managed, how and where the money spent etc etc. Otherwise Man City would have won the Premier League as they spent the most. I agree that in time cash rises to the top, but because we so monumentally f**ked up our finances, we ain't got any. We had a large wage bill going on s**t players, not a smaller one going on decent players like other clubs.
I don't think anyone ever thought that a new manager every year was the answer. They thought, this manager isn't good enough and we need a better one, but kep making the wrong appointments, seemingly until now.
Likewise certain members of the old board were inept, I think so far, McNally Bowkett have demonstrated they are not inept, possibly the opposite, we finally have people in charge who can get us going in the right direction.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing and who knows we may look back on the appointment of McNally as the worst thing in our history.
I somehow doubt it though.
