I didn't like ep2 much either. This week's was BRILLIANT.

Heavy on the suspension of disbelief, as with the rest of the series, but if you can get over that - just splendid.

Tell you why I didn't like ep2 much - in ep1 I was really really impressed with the use of the incidental music - it was loud, discordant, atmospheric. But in ep2 it just wasn't used at all. It was like they'd got a completely different guy in to do the score.
