Norwich have Fraser Forster set to sign next week on a season long loan. They are still looking at signing a left back, right winger and striker as well with an attacking midfielder also a possibility dependant upon price and availability.

Lamberts preferred options are David Wright, released by Ipswich as the left back who can play anywhere across the back line and has played for City on loan before. Lambert has spoken to Wright's agent.

Another former City player, Lee Croft, has emerged as the surprise favourite to rejoin at right wing. Croft still has a home in Norwich and is not in Nigel Clough's plans and would be keen to come back after only a year away. Money is the obvious hurdle, but discussions are underway.

The striker choice is less clear as Lambert is searching a lot of options but has offered Ade Akinfenwa a contract, although Akinfenwa is unsure as he wants a starting berth and is certainly not guaranteed one ahead of Holt and Martin.

The attacking midfielder position is again, up for discussion and the likeliest candidate is Curtis Weston of Gillingham.

Darel Russell and Jens Berthal Askou are the only likely leavers at this stage, with Russell almost certain to join Leeds on a free. Askou is unsettled and has been told that he is free to look at other options.
