Which is all fine, but you are making some fairly large assumptions that we have

been chasing the player for four years (or that we ever did want him - indeed the only reference still available is one where the manager is categorically saying he does not want to sign him).

Whilst an element of what you are saying may well hold true (and on that argument about not shelling out for players that out managers want is one i have never agreed with you on here - if the money is not there, the money is not there, what other clubs do you see spending more than us on players and wages etc etc...), rightly or wrongly, to the objective observer, it appears you are trying to make 'facts' about Ward fit your prejudicial opinions of the Board.
