I just remembered another experience which is quite interesting

I was in Cuba a few years ago and my gf at the time had a friend who was married to a famous santero in the city of Trinidad. As you may know these are people who supposedly contact the dead and/or otherwise give spiritual and physical guidance to people via the various saints. Incidentally these people pay handsome sums in livestock, produce or plain cash.

Anyway, we'd met some italian bloke who was keen on meeting these santero, so we took him back and the santero started communicating with this dead slave called Eugenio who he claimed told him various things, including that the Italian guy's mum had just had just injured herself in a fall. I thought it was odd that he'd give such specific info, but a bit later the Italian was a little peturbed and phoned home to discover that his mum had indeed just broken her ankle that very day falling off a ladder.

I found that fairly shocking as a confirmed sceptic
