Final Politico Musings

Hopefully we can all get back to football!

Tricky was right all along in our "debate" and I toff my hat to him in deference. Perhaps it was actually Labour who never really wanted to do the deal, but, whatever...we live in hope now; fine words from Cameron last night, lets hope he lives up to them. Tough times ahead, and, as one commentator said, they'll be in a very deep trough, very quickly...how they come out of that will be important. How the country responds equally so. He is on a hiding to nothing, and, I suspect, the first signs of unpopular policies will see people on the streets protesting a'la the Poll Tax riots...

...a lot of focus will go onto the Labour leadership battle however, and they will appreciate and benefit from being in opposition for a while. As Cameron and co would have done. Miliband or Balls, Ed Miliband, I suspect, the "dark horse" in the manner Cameron was for the Conservative leadership when that started.

Hope Cable gets a senior financial role.

Nick Clegg as Deputy PM, blimey! If Cameron is ill, indisposed, or on holiday...yep, he has his finger on our button!

We shall see-real change or more words? It'll be interesting...
