I don't get the accusation of left-wing bias about the BBC.

I think it's a throwback to the Thatcher period and the end of the Major reign when they justifiably criticised the government. But now they have the former head of the Young Conservatives from the Thatcher era as their political editor (Robinson), and any listen to the Today programme will reveal reporting that is quite critical of Labour. Not to mention satire like Have I got News for You, which has turned into Ian Hislop's "cantankerous old man with issues" platform. Their TV news has started to resemble "The Day Today" although Sky does beat them at that.
