If Gordon Brown Had Stood Down...

...say a year, 18 months before this election, and Milliband had contested it against Cameron and Clegg, what might the scenario been?

Labour victory but with majority of no more than 40-50 I reckon?

Did Brown really affect their chances last week THAT much? People are saying that the votes they lost were not a comment against them, but a comment against Brown. So what was it about him that people were objecting to?
