I said this would happen a few days ago and was told I was talking crap! But you could just see it unfolding that way...
I don't think Cameron ever had the intention of forming a pact with the Lib Dems. Their (Conservatives) position as a strong and belligerant opposition to a potential Lab/Lib Dem Alliance will see them quietly gather strength whilst the others implement -as they will have to-unpopular policies (Labour="savings", Tory="cuts", but amount to the same thing!), leaving them in a strong position for the inevitable election that will follow in the next few months, albeint with Labour under new leadership.
