I heard an interesting stat the other day

To tackle his recession, John Major split 50:50 between tax rises and public spending cuts

NONE the current parties has had the balls to suggest tax rises on that scale. Labour does least cutting and most tax hikes, LibDems in between, but no-one goes near Major's (Ken Clarke's?) ratio
