It is the case that the effects of immigration are most directly felt by the poor indigenous working class
Immigrants tend to be competing with them for the same low-skilled low-paid jobs, for the same housing stock, to live in the same areas
The middle classes are insulated from them - they live in expensive areas which the immigrants can't afford, they have jobs which the immigrants can't do.
So it becomes understandable that horrible racist parties get a toehold in those areas with a high concentration of indigenous poor working class people. This is a real issue.
