WHOEVER wins this election is going to become very unpopular, very quickly, as people realise quite what the implications are of the financial black hole we're in
If the Conservatives win, this will simply emphasise their reputation as savage destroyers of public services etc etc and they could be out of power for decades
But if there's a hang, and if after a few days bargaining Clegg decides to ally with Broon, the result will be that the great unwashed will suddenly realise that the one thing that most of them wanted to happen (Broon out) has NOT happened and they've still got him as PM. I would expect that to be deeply, deeply unpopular, so that once the first crisis arises and a vote of confidence is lost, the ensuing election would give Cameron a big majority. By which time (if he's lucky) people may be more expectant of the austerity measures.
