I think I agree with you

Brown sauce is made from Tamarinds, which was one of Delia's 'cheat' ingredients. it has a lot more of a complex taste than ketchup and (if they're good quality bangers) makes a much more interesting supper for someone with her gustative expertise.

Then again she might go for no sauce at all, saying that it should just be served with Colman's mustard.
