Of course the lap of honour wouild be cancelled

(but it might have been fun to see them try). In days of yore when end of season pitch invasions were a rite of passage the team appeared in the directors box to take the adulation in front of thousands of flag waving fans. Believe me the bond and fans and players was a lot stronger as a result, far more than politely clapping as the players slowly walked around the pitch, it was a lot more real and a lot more of a sense of occasion.
Do you always obey all the rules?
There will be dozens of sets of fans celebrating on the pitch this week and next those celebrating championships, promotion, play off places, those avoiding relegation and those that do it for the hell of it. Yet our fans are berated for doing that same thing. It is yet another sign of sanitation of our club and football generally. The Health and Safety fascists can claim another victory
