starting wage was 1.6mn pesos, which is now about 2 grand GBP. But they were desperate. Not sure what wages are now, but I'd be very surprised if even crappy private schools weren't paying at least a grand a month.

You're probly right though, they do usually require teaching degrees, but they can and do bend the rules when they find someone they want.
