that's what I thunk

I thought the basic picture was that we had permission to speak, but on the explicit understanding with colyoo that we'd go back to talk to them about compensation if we and he wanted to take things further

instead he resigned and we appointed him

which is why we owe them something. No idea whether that's a bad enough sin for a points deduction though.
