The local press here have also shown gangs of Caucasian vigilante groups roaming the streets alledgedly protecting people.

People trying to commission pumps to empty the flood water were shot at yesterday despite having armed police protecting them, police returned fire and 6 were shot in the process.

Its a lot quieter now though with many people having been evacuated to nearby cities, Houston included.
