kenton canary - big thanks for helping sort out the ticket - really glad i didnt miss that.
live near to the valley so back already. was going to give a full report but it seems you've all been watching a stream.
pretty decent performance. heard some charlton fans grumbling about us on the way home and how little we created and saying we'll come straight back down but we were ok. well, they can f**k off. first half was pretty even, and we put our chance away (plus the one that was ruled out - any thoughts on the offside call as i couldnt really tell from behind the goal?) and they didnt with theirs - thanks to forster.
second half, as you might expect, they threw everything at us. we gave them a lot of possession and a number of chances but they never really carved us apart. forster made a few more decent saves, and you might say he kept us in it, but i was quite impressed with how we coped with everything - calm and unflustered throughout, like we knew we'd keep them out. whole back line was superb really. doc got a foot or a head in everytime just when it looked someone would get a shot in, nelson did well and scored, drury showed what a wily old fox he is and read the game very well, and r martin was decent too, far far better than tuesday. credit to chris martin too, who ran himself into the ground and got amongst the opposition throughout
fans were great - singing throughout. a real party.
and least but not least - WOOHOO we are up. thank christ for that
now time for some bears
