It's not even the prospect of "just" f**king it up.
If it was nip and tuck all season, a few points between 3,4 good teams and we just missed out-yes, that would be bad, but being so dominant, winning so many games, having such a big lead over 3rd place-wasn't it 12 points at one stage?
And then this, defeat at Tranmere, a lucky home draw against MK Dons, looking dodgy at Orient and players now injured and suspended, you can see it, unrolling on the paper as the days and games progress, bit by painful bit...and to think everyone had worked out tonight might have been the party night-now it might turn into more of a wake, thank f**k for Millwall losing and Leeds drawing, but we shouldn't have to be struggling and looking at other teams results, we really shouldn't...surely the players aren't suddenly feeling the pressure and expectations on them?
