Went to Taba Heights last November. It is a resort in at the northern end of the East branch of the Red Sea. You can see Israel, Saudia Arabia and the Hashimite Kingdom of Jordan. It's in Asian part of Egypt rather than Africa.
There is a golf course and great snorkelling. Saw stingrays, blue rays, barracuda etc. Otherwise nothing else to do locally.
Day trip to Petra a must. Saladin's castle is interesting.
No entry or exit taxes, part of Israel's conditions on giving the area back to Egypt. People who went to Jerusalem were made to wait between 3 and 4 hours each way crossing into Isreal!
