Most overrated.

As Tom Reynolds correctly points out in his fantastic book 'I hate myself and want to die: The 52 most depressing songs you've ever heard.', if you have a bad voice and sing about drugs you will be taken seriously by numpties everywhere.

Thus we can dismiss The Velvet Underground (and all the dismal solo efforts that followed), Neil Young, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, etc, etc, etc.

The Rolling Stones, of course, just made songs about getting laid and having a laugh. The opening bars of 'Lets spend the night together' are worth more than the combined output of all the above put together.

(Although, all their slow songs are steaming piles of manure and they should have jacked it in 1972.)
